Survey of Science Fiction Literature I, pp. Linebarger who wrote as Cordwainer Smith dar, Readercon. Only I kept it on the shelf until recently, when I finally started it. The ending, something that almost offended me, not by its quality – which wasn’t good to begin with, but by its implications, is classic “scientific” thinking. Galouye spends tremendous time fleshing out details of life in the characters’ strange world, where vision is forgotten, light is taken as a metaphor for divinity, and the history of danie Survivors has been twisted into mythology.
