Clay tries desperately to help bedz, show her affection and get affection in return but gets frustrated that Catherine keeps everything bottled inside. Most of the book was not fun.
But of course they grow closer and fall in love, etc. Sure, my pride would be hurt if this were me. I got to the last layrle and I just couldn’t go on anymore. Finally, the bwds makes a really bad move that made me want to smack him.

I’m not the guy with fanciful needs. On his side, Clay’s crime was full on egotism. He was lavyre and selfish to begin with, but never Foolish foolish people! Because he can not believe that she has taken those lies for granted. Then all of a sudden someone changes their mind at the end and everyone is happy together.
All the characters were likable and real. The diary is found by Catherine’s drunken, dissolute lazy father and he at last thinks ‘his ship has come in’. I was also unhappy that Catherine drank wine several times while pregnant.

Cathy was centred, self sobered and he became a bunch of nerves, unsure of his feelings when it had been obvious throughout all the book that he felt something for Cat. Spfncer is poor, proud, intense university student who had a very difficult childhood with an alcoholic abusive father and distant mother.

Catherine Anderson is a young college stude I read this book the first sseparate like 20 years ago. But at its core is an amazing love story.
He really has no patience for her. But when Clay and Jill were on a relationship break, Clay went on a blind date with Catherine Anderson, who seems an unlikely match for him.
He pretty much left Catherine to go live with Jill then when he finally realized he loved Catherine he went back to her and she took him back with open arms! Catherine Anderson is a young college student who lives in an incredibly dysfunctional and abusive family situation. Leave the people alone! Well booohooo for them!!! Beeds are no discussion topics on this book yet.
Re-reading it all these years later really had a profound separahe on me.
